The
Southern Party of Tennessee was founded in April 2005 as a direct response to the lack of representation that the people of
Tennessee had in the 2 party system and because of the Vanderbilt/UDC issue.

the end of 2006 the SPTN was disbanded due to lack of funding. Although membership streatched from Indiana
to Chattanooga there was not enough funding to continue radio ads, web expenses and the process to further run candidates
and seek ballot access.
Below
you will find the SPTN Mission Statement,Platform and party related articles.
SPTN Mission Statement
The
purpose of the SPTN is to defend, secure and promote the rights of the individual in the State. We believe that a good federal
government is a government who leaves the citizens alone, a government separated from our schools, homes, churches, daily
lives and families. The State not the federal government should be responsible for the people who inhabit its boundaries.
As the only party for Tennesseans by Tennesseans, we shall work without ceasing to restore, defend, and better the lives and
liberties of the citizens of Tennessee.
The
SPTN is dedicated to the protection and upholding of the State constitution as well as the social, economic and political
independence of the State of Tennessee and her citizens.
We
strive to better benefit the State and the citizens of Tennessee.
As well as promote and teach the true history and heritage of our fine State.
We
will work with other organizations, individuals and movements both in and out of the State to better provide for
the political need of the State and to help like minded groups achieve their goals and independence.
The
SPTN does not condone the use of violence or force to gain political offices or independence. We seek only to use peaceful
and legal courses of action.
The SPTN condemns racism
in all its forms and will not tolerate any organization or person who engages in racial politics or discrimination.
Platform
State
Sovereignty
Our Founding
Fathers clearly understood that State sovereignty meant freedom for all citizens. The federal government has time and time
again usurped the State constitution and federal Constitution thus breaking the common interests between the State and Federal
government. The SPTN will work to peacefully and legally restore State sovereignty to the great State of Tennessee.
Taxation
The SPTN understands
that without taxes a government cannot effectively function, however it is not in the best interest of the citizens nor the
State to institute a State Income Tax. We oppose the introduction of a State Income Tax and will fight to permanently
ban a State Income Tax.
Human
Life
The right
to human life is the most basic right anyone has and to deny that right, with the exception of punishment for a crime, is
murder. The SPTN shall work to ban all forms of legal abortion.
Immigration
A. This
country and State was built of immigrants however they came peacefully and with the understanding that they were entering
into a different culture.
We believe
that legal immigration is beneficial to the State and to our economy but when immigration legal and illegal reaches a certain
point the State and legal citizens begin to suffer. The SPTN opposes all forms of illegal immigration and shall work to inact
legislation that will limit the flood of illegals.
B. The SPTN
will fight to name English as the official language of Tennessee. Adopted May28, 2005
Draft
The 13th Amendment
to the US constitution forbids any person
to be held in involuntary servitude except for punishment of a crime. The SPTN understands the need to keep a well manned
military, but when the citisens are forcefully conscripted to fight in a war that is illegal by constitutional standards we
believe that is a violation of not only Constitutional law but human rights.
To read a
transcript of the Universal National Service Act go to http://southernloyalists.tripod.com/id30.html
Southern
Heritage
The SPTN believes
that the South has a distinct and separate heritage and that we should be proud of it. The SPTN shall work to in act legislation
that would create April 12th as Confederate Heritage Day and June 8th as Tennessee Secession Day.
Right
to Bear Arms
The U.S. Constitution
gives us all the right to keep and bear arms. We believe that the only way we may remain free is if we can defend ourselves
from not only foreign invasion but from a potential tyrannical government, is to keep and bear arms. The SPTN will fight to
secure that right for all law abiding citisens.
Homosexual
Marriage
We believe
that marriage is between a man and a woman. The SPTN shall support all efforts to ban, on a State level, gay marriage.
EC Resolution Number 3
Where as the children of this grand State,
are the most valuable gift we have.
Where as it is the duty of all citizens
of Tennessee to protect our children.
Where as Sexual offenders are often repeat
offenders.
Where as, the Southern Party of Tennessee wishes to protect and better the welfare of all Tennessee
citizens.
Let it be resolved the Southern Party
of Tennessee push to have Jessica’s Law passed in State government. With the following as part of Jessica’s Law
“a minimum of 25 years in prison for anyone over 18 years of age who is convicted of sexually assaulting a child under
the age of 12, mandatory GPS monitoring for life, and a mandatory life sentence for anyone convicted of a second offense.”

My name is David W. Durrett, and I am writing this open letter to explain some of
my reasoning behind joining (and supporting) the Southern Party of Tennessee.
I have watched, with growing trepidation, our God-given rights, as American citizens,
slowly eroded, and taken away, piecemeal, over time. Every right that has been taken away, has never been given back, in the
entire course of human history, without having to be fought for. Yet, we all are easily misled into giving our rights away,
in times of stress, such as after the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, or the attack on New York on Sept. 11. We do well
to remember these dates, because each has changed America, and not necessarily for the best. After each of these events, we,
as a people, freely gave away rights to personal freedoms, for a "war effort". Yet, the difference between the two events,
and the course our country took afterwards, should be alarming to those who love freedom.
In the aftermath of the attack on New York (which I refuse to trivialize by naming
by its date), several of our freedoms were usurped by the "homeland security act". We all wish to be secure, but the question
remains, at what cost? I feel that the loss of so many of our personal freedoms, especially as regards personal privacy, in
this age of information technology, is too high a price to pay.
In response to this Federal invasion of our individual rights, I feel it is time
to gather together with like-minded individuals to start to seek redress.
The best way to make our voices known is to stand up, in Tennessee, for the rights
of all Tennesseans. I believe that the Southern Party of Tennessee, and its platform, represents my interests, and those of
our fellow Tennesseans, better than any other.
Tennessee has proven itself capable of taking care of its citizens, better than the
Federal Government, Time and again. I think we need to put the power of government over our lives, and freedoms, into more
local hands. Our Federal Government should be in the business of taking care of only those things given it by the Constitution,
and not interfering with our lives, on a State, Local, or Individual basis.
I also feel it is time for our fellow Tennesseans, to take our rightful place in
shouldering the responsibilities of protecting our interests. That is why I support the Party Platform, for I feel it is in
the best interests of the inhabitants of Tennessee to do so. Although we welcome all of those immigrants, who desire to come
to Tennessee, and share in our quality of life here, they must realize, as our own ancestors did, that they are entering an
established culture, which welcomes those willing to integrate themselves. Illegal immigrants, especially those unwilling
to integrate themselves into society, must be seen as the detriment they are, to other, legal immigrants, as well as to our
society in general. I feel that taking the step to name English as the official language of Tennessee, is a step towards integrating
our fellow immigrants, to the rich culture we already share.
Speaking of our rich, shared culture, I am strongly in favor of supporting, and promoting,
the pride in our history that often is pushed aside. It is important for us to promote the remembrance of our history, for
our history leads us into our future. Our rich heritage should be a source of pride for all, as we see over and again, the
results of the efforts of outstanding groups, and individuals, in Tennessee history.
I could go on, but I feel I have stated what is important to me, and why I feel that
the Southern Party of Tennessee is my choice, and the choice, for the Future of Tennessee.

Racism has existed since the beginning
of time, in every culture. However when one race tries’s to reconciliate their transgressions an era of peace begins.
Yet, even after 138 years of slavery being abolished, and the passege of the Civil Rights Act some people just can’t
get over the fact that whites have tried to make things better. I am talking of course about the Black Caucus. They have placed
themselves in position of segregated power and refuse to allow people membership based totally on the color of their skin.
I would like to offer my support to Rep.
Campfield, he has confronted the Black Caucus and called them out.
It is sad when the discriminated become
the discriminators. After all the progress Black law makers show themselves to be just a racist as that most despicable group
the KKK.
I ask all of you to give Rep. Campfield
your support and please let the Black Caucus know how you feel.

Fellow
Tennesseans,
The news of Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton's decision not to rename the 3 Confederate Parks is good news. It shows that we
the citizens of this State still can make a difference. However, his statements do not offer a permanent solution rather,
passing the buck "...ask the City Council to give the parks to the University
of Tennessee and a nonprofit corporation helping develop the city's riverfront."
But
this is still none the less a great victory for the SPTN and indeed the nation.
So
now let me say that the SPTN will no longer boycott the City of Memphis.
