The following is a list of poems writen by our very own Jennifer Jones!

Southerners

Suppressed by our supposed peers

Outcasted by the ignorant

Unappreciated for our accomplishments

Taught to despise who we are

Hated and feared for our combined potential

Entranced by the lies we are force-fed

Repentant for a decision that was neither treason nor sin

Not allowed to spread the truth when we do beat the system

Empowered by the righteousness of our ancestors’ cause

Racist? Only if you consider the Yanks another race

Stripped of recorded historic glory but not pride or honor

And the South Shall Rise

Too good for this world

Were the boys in grey

All now have died

But their cause will stay

To be shouldered by others

With the same pride and grace

To continue this trek

For this glorious place

We lost all in the past

But now we are gaining

A spark of that glory

With our courage remaining

The battle is lost

But the war isn’t done

Until secession is granted

And our freedom is won

With the boys in grey

Still fresh in our hearts

We march forward with pride

As the real movement starts

We’ll hold to that truth

Our intent free of sin

We’ll fight for our future

And the South shall rise again!!

A Salute

A salute to the men

Who fought to be free

When it would have been easier

To back down or flee

Hope drove them on

In the face of despair

The hope for a future

That would never be bare

A salute to the women

Who stood firm against sin

Determined to live

And see their boys home again

Hope drove them on

Despite all of their fears

They just rolled up their sleeves

And hid their tears

A salute to the children

Who took all the damnation

From the new, ordered government

And unified nation

Hope drove them on

That the cause wouldn’t die

Kept alive in their hearts

And passed down to you and I

A salute to us

The new generation

No less proud

And with as much determination

Hope drives us on

And the cause is still here

So long as it lives

There is nothing to fear

Roots

Dear son,

I hope this reaches you

And gives you the encouragement

To keep doing what you do

The pipes are blaring

And the fiddles are singing

The spoons are playing

And our spirits are ringing

All our hearts dance

To the same rhythmic beat

And those drums keep on pounding

In snow, rain or heat

With your pa’s rifle slung over your shoulder

Keep your heart and feet light

And remember that music

In the darkest of nights

You may have lost your coat,

Your horse and your boots

But don’t lose your faith, my son,

For you’ve still got your roots

We hail Dixie as home

But we came from across the sea

You were too young to remember

But you were on the boat with your pa and me

You fight for what’s right

Just like you were shown

And I couldn’t be prouder

But, what’s more, you’re not alone

You’ve got brothers in arms

Surrounding you on every side

So hold your head high

And march forward with pride

Whether from the Highlands like us

Or the Green Isle of Erin

To Dixie and the South

Our loyalty we’re swearin’

It’s that choice

That makes us all kin

And, since our cause is so pure,

We’re sure to win

To my dear son

I hope to see you before long

And know that your place in this war

Is where you belong

P.S. — I’ll try to send you a coat

           And another pair of boots

           But, while you’re at it,

Make sure all your friends too know their roots

This Nation

This nation wrought from anger, fear and hope

They did the best within their scope

To ensure a future free of tyranny and oppression

Only for it to come to this, the Eternal Depression

All their blood, sweat and tears were for naught

For this is what all their work begot

Now they’re probably rolling in their graves

Cursing us all for ignorant, wasteful knaves

How could we let their vision come to this?

A cesspool of villains and belligerent blindness

There is no going forward and no way to turn back

Everything has gone so far off track

The only way to move at all

Is to tear it down and watch it all fall

And from the ashes of a government torn

Can liberty be resurrected and freedom reborn

But not until this dead limb is removed

Can the so-called “American Legacy” be disproved

That dream is but a battle cry away

And tomorrow we could be singing God Bless the CSA!!!
